The Friouato caves are filled with paintings and engravings that tell the history of Moroccan people over time.

Some of these paintings can be found on the limestone walls and ceilings, while others are only visible upon entering the Friouato caves.

These include animals such as goats and bulls (although no human figures) as well as abstract lines, zig zags and circles creating diamonds and diamond patterns.

Also painted are representations of horses, camels and the sun.

The Friouato caves have varying levels of access to them with deep shafts that reach into the roots of the mountain.

It is possible that even earlier humans entered Friouato caves during the Paleolithic period.

Friouato caves are incredibly unique and interesting with their depictions of animals and humans that they attract many visitors each year.
